AIMS AND SCOPE OF GEOLOGICA

Scope

Geologica, an international journal of Earth Sciences, focuses on publishing original research articles, high quality reviews (in many cases invited by the editors), and short pictorials/short communications of multi-disciplinary fields in Earth Science.

Aims

It aims to present high-quality research publications and information connected to various disciplines of Earth Sciences such as regional and structural geology, tectonics, mineralogy, petrology, geochemistry, geophysics, sedimentology, remote sensing and GIS, mineral exploration, stratigraphy, paleontology, and utilization of earth resources to society.

It also covers topics related to Environmental Geology, climate and its impact on society, natural hazards and their mitigation (e.g., earthquakes, landslides, flooding, debris flows and snow avalanches, glaciers retreat/surge etc.)

Articles Submission Process

Submissions of original articles in English language, from scientists around the World on relevant subjects are welcome.

All articles are peer reviewed by at least two referees for scholarly presentation, technical merit, quality of scientific content, and utility of the results for practicing geologists.

Papers that are recommended by reviewers shall be accepted for publication in Geologica upon the decision of the editor or recommendation by the Editorial Board.

Submitted papers must place the research in a broad context so that it is of interest to the diverse, international readership of the journal. Papers that are largely descriptive in nature, of limited or local significance, or based on limited data will not be considered for publication.
